Annotatsiya

This study develops a proportionate framework for sustainability-related financial information in small businesses by integrating IFRS S1, IFRS S2, the IFRS for SMEs Accounting Standard and Uzbekistan’s financial-reporting environment. The research applies regulatory content analysis, comparative analysis, systems thinking and conceptual modelling. It identifies five recurring implementation challenges: unclear responsibility, the absence of a financialmateriality process, fragmented operational data, limited links to financial statement items and an underdeveloped control trail. To address these issues, the study proposes the SME-SFI model, comprising five stages: scope, materiality, data registration, financial connectivity, and control and disclosure. Its financial-connectivity map links material sustainability risks and opportunities to revenue, operating costs, assets, liabilities, financing and cash flows. A three-level adoption pathway allows entities to begin with available qualitative evidence, advance to comparable metrics and targets, and build readiness for full application of IFRS S1 and IFRS S2. The proposed approach provides a practical and testable link between sustainability disclosure and SME accounting practice in an emerging-market context.
